The sports elective courses belong to the General Training Plan (PFG) and allow students to learn and practice sports disciplines during a whole semester.


These courses are held three times a week at different levels of depth, grant five credits and students can take them starting in the second semester of their degree.

In addition, they are taught in different schedules in mixed modality, women and men, in the different campuses of the university. Each semester, more than 120 sections are taught, with 29 different disciplines, offering an average of 3,000 vacancies per semester.

The number of sport credits that the student wishes can be taken. However, not all the credits that these courses provide are recognized as valid for the General Training Plan. Most degree programs consider 10 credits (2 courses) as valid within the General Training Plan as a graduation requirement. There are careers that consider a higher number, so it is necessary to check with the teaching coordination of the career you are studying.

It is an academic certificate or minor, which is coordinated jointly with the Faculties of Education and Medicine and consists of a group of courses from different careers that are related to each other by the themes of sport and physical activity. This certificate is recognized as valid to comply with the comprehensive training plan required by the university and once completed, it is academically recognized as a specialty diploma.
