The depression prevention program seeks to promote the early detection of depressive symptoms in order to favor early intervention, and with it the prevention of the configuration of major depressive mood disorder, which generally involves a significant decrease in people's functionality. To this end, we have different services open to students, such as community activities, group workshops, individual counseling and dissemination of psychoeducational content.


Objectives

Promote the early detection of depressive mood symptoms in the student population, favoring well-being and timely intervention aimed at preventing the configuration of major depressive disorder, or referring to specialized treatment.

Services

The Depression Prevention program offers the following services for UC, undergraduate and graduate students:

“It’s OK Not to Be OK” Community Intervention:

Open activity carried out in the courtyards of the university at lunch time with the students, which aims to psychoeducate in relation to myths and truths regarding Depressive Mood Disorder.

Talks:

An educational exhibition space, which seeks to provide basic information about depressive mood disorder, protective and risk factors, and available treatments.

Councils:

Individual space for psychological accompaniment of between 1 and 4 sessions for students with subclinical symptoms, or mild depressive, in which the triggering event of this symptomatology is directly addressed, performing.

Group Workshops:

Psychoeducational and experiential space that seeks to provide basic information about major depressive disorder, and strengthen emotional resources that can be protective against depressive symptoms.
