San Joaquin UC Swimming Pool
In the sports facilities of the San Joaquín campus, Universidad Católica has two swimming pools; an 8-lane semi-Olympic pool and a recreational pool for classes with children and hydro-gymnastics. There are men’s and women’s dressing rooms, plus an alternative dressing room for the use of parents and children. Each of them has lockers, which users can access by bringing their personal padlock. The place has strict security measures, with lifeguards and an infirmary. It also has bleachers for 100 people. UC Pool has an ongoing commitment to sustainability, which is why all of our systems are powered by solar energy.
In addition, the campus has paid parking, green areas and is part of the Campus San Joaquín university complex, where you can find courts, cafeterias, casinos, banks, a bookstore, among other services. It is located next to the San Joaquín Metro, line 5.
San Joaquín Semi-Olympic Swimming Pool
This heated pool of 25 mts. It is 8 lanes long, with a depth varying from 1.2 meters. to 1.65 mts. Each track has its own partition, which meet the necessary requirements for sports use. This pool offers swimming lessons for adults and children over 7 years old. Its lanes can also be used for free swimming, where the user buys a ticket for 1 hour of swimming at available times according to availability.
Swimming pool (Hydrogym)
The enclosure has a recreational swimming pool of 15 meters. The swimming pool is located in a long beach, where daily hydro-gymnastics classes and swimming lessons for children from 3 to 6 years of age are held. This pool has a maximum depth of 1.10 mts. and the water temperature is 30°C. Users of these services can access sports equipment for the practice of these activities in the water, such as floats, rings, balls and submersible bars suitable for working with children.
Requirements
Registration is required. In addition:
- Entry to the swimming pool will only be allowed to persons in swimming attire, after passing through a footbath.
- It is mandatory to wear a swim cap, water glasses, sandals and towel.
- All users must shower before entering the pool.
- Belongings should be stored in the lockers. The use of a padlock is mandatory, each user must bring his own.

How to get to the UC pool?

Pedestrian access: Vicuña Mackenna 4860, next to Metro San Joaquín, line 5. Enter through the campus entrance and continue on the main path through the alameda to the San Joaquin Library. As you pass this building, you will see on the right hand side the courts of the Sports area, where the UC swimming pool is located.
Vehicular access: You can access the pool through Carlos Casanueva or Benito Rebolledo streets.
From Carlos Casanueva: Enter through the third gate, past the San Joaquin Medical Center. Once inside the campus, follow the interior streets to the east, until you reach the fields. You can park in front of the pool.
From Benito Rebolledo: Enter through the gate located next to the synthetic grass fields. Once inside the campus, follow the interior streets to the north, until you reach the end of the natural grass fields. You can park in front of the pool.
