The main objective of the Sexual Health Program is the promotion of sexual health self-care and the provision of reliable and updated information on these issues for the integral development of the physical wellbeing of students, both during university life and for their future professional career.

Services and activities

The Sexual Health program of Student Health and Wellness provides the following services to undergraduate and graduate students. All services and activities are free of charge for students.

  • Sexual health counseling and rapid testing.
  • Talks, lectures and workshops: we will be sharing more details about these activities throughout the year through the Student Health and Wellness emails and Instagram @saludybienestarestaruc. Also, as Student Centers, Academic Unit or career can request talks and workshops, writing to saludsexual@uc.cl.

What does the sexual health counseling and rapid testing service consist of?

This service consists of a maximum of 50 minutes of face-to-face care provided by a midwife or nurse from the Program.

This service is CONFIDENTIAL, that means that we do not record what the student tells us in this space, nor the results of his or her exams. Everything is between the student and the midwife or nurse who performs the care.

In this space you can:

  • Resolve doubts about sexual health: gynecological health, family planning, genital self-care education, information about preventive exams, information about preventive vaccinations, among other topics.
  • Perform rapid tests for HIV and/or syphilis, which yield results in 15 minutes, therefore, the result is delivered in the same attention.
  • Request orders for STI (Sexually Transmitted Infections) and/or PAP (Pap smear) tests.
  • Request orders for HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) and/or HBV (Hepatitis B Virus) vaccination.
