"Good Sleep" aims to empower UC students to take control of their rest and develop habits that will last throughout their lives. The program seeks to help them reach their full academic, emotional, and personal potential through restful and healthy sleep.


General Objective

Promote awareness and adoption of healthy sleep habits among college students, in order to improve their quality of life, academic performance, and overall well-being.

Specific Objectives

  • Raise awareness among students about the importance of sleep for physical, mental, and academic well-being.
  • Educate students on sleep hygiene practices and how to maintain a regular sleep schedule.
  • Provide tools and techniques so that they can cultivate a restful routine.
  • Foster an environment conducive to rest in common areas of the campus.
  • Reduce the incidence of sleep disorders in college students.

The Buen Dormir program offers the following services for UC, undergraduate and graduate students:

  • Counseling: Individual space for psychological accompaniment of between 1 and 6 sessions for students with difficulties associated with sleep in order to improve the quality of sleep and promote healthy sleep habits in students.
  • Talks: An educational exhibition space that seeks to provide basic information about myths, realities and sleep hygiene and raise awareness about the importance of sleep.
  • Group Workshops: Psychoeducational and experiential space that seeks to provide basic information about the importance of sleep for health and well-being and also provide tools and strategies to improve sleep quality.
  • Playground activities: Activity open to the entire community where “power naps” are used as an intervention with the aim of raising awareness about rest and promoting the importance of it to improve general well-being, reduce stress and increase.
